What it costs, and what you get for it.
We charge for planning. We charge for management. We don’t bundle one to disguise the cost of the other. You pay for what we deliver, and the math is visible.
Two free calls, before any money changes hands.
15-Minute Checkup
FreeNo cost, no obligation. A quick fit-check, not an advice session. We confirm whether what we do matches what you need, and if so, schedule the Full Picture, a free hour on your whole situation.
The Full Picture
Free · 60 minNo cost, no obligation. An hour on your whole situation, with both spouses or partners if applicable. We identify specific exposures and put rough numbers on what may be at stake, so you can decide whether the Plan makes sense. No recommendations on this call. That is what the Plan is for.
The Wealth Plan
If there’s a fitIf we agree there’s a fit, the next step is the Plan. If we don’t, the two calls cost you nothing but the time.
Financial planning and investment management are priced separately. Every relationship ordinarily starts with the Plan, and it can stand on its own. The other two are there if you want to keep going.

Due at signing. The fee is earned as the work is performed, beginning with the kickoff call, which we schedule promptly, normally within 15 days. Cancel any time before delivery for a full refund. The timeline depends on how quickly we receive your documents. The Plan fee is separate and is not credited against Wealth Management fees. A completed plan is not monitored or updated after delivery unless you engage Plan Ongoing or Wealth Management. Implementation, ongoing access, and transaction execution are covered by the two engagements that follow.
Plan Ongoing

- Email access through our secure portal
Wealth Management
1.00% / year or lessasset-based from $500,000Planning, investment management, and an ongoing relationship as one engagement. It begins after the Plan is delivered. The fee is tiered and steps down as assets grow, from 1.00% to 0.70%. The full schedule is below. You give BFA limited trading authority to carry out your investment policy, so you do not need to approve each trade in advance. Your assets stay at Charles Schwab in your name. We never hold your money.
- We manage your investments and serve as your ongoing sounding board
- Ongoing planning included, with no separate Plan Ongoing charge
- We coordinate with your CPA and estate attorney, or refer from a network we trust
Under $500,000: a flat $5,000 per year retainer, billed monthly ($416.67) and deducted from your account. It includes ongoing planning, and accounts are reviewed at least quarterly. Because relationships ordinarily begin with the Wealth Plan, the first twelve months come to about $10,000: the $5,000 Plan, once, plus the $5,000 annual retainer. For smaller households the retainer can exceed 2% of assets per year, the first-year total with the Wealth Plan fee is higher still, and these fees may be higher than fees charged elsewhere for similar services.
Wealth Management fee schedule
| Investable assets | Annual fee on that tier |
|---|---|
| $500,000 – $2,500,000 | 1.00% |
| $2,500,000 – $3,500,000 | 0.95% |
| $3,500,000 – $4,500,000 | 0.90% |
| $4,500,000 – $5,000,000 | 0.85% |
| $5,000,000 – $10,000,000 | 0.80% |
| Above $10,000,000 | 0.70% |
Each rate applies only to the assets in that tier, not to your whole balance. Household accounts are combined for the tiers. Billed monthly in advance on the prior month-end value and deducted from your Schwab account under your written authorization. If you end the relationship, unearned fees are refunded pro rata.
Example: a $3,000,000 portfolio pays 1.00% on the first $2,500,000 ($25,000) and 0.95% on the next $500,000 ($4,750), $29,750 a year, about 0.99%.
How fees are paid. Planning fees are invoiced. Wealth Management fees and the retainer are deducted from your Schwab account under your written authorization. We never hold your money. Your assets stay at Schwab in your name.
BFA Wealth Management is paid only by its clients, through the planning and asset management fees shown on this page. No commissions on investment products. No insurance sales. Mateo Dellovo also holds a Florida real estate license and owns real estate businesses outside BFA. Those activities, and the conflicts they can create, are described in our Form ADV.
